First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. Please bring a list of medications with dosages to help us complete your patient information. This information will help us determine what type a care is best for you and will be review with you during your consult.

Basic Vitals

We will also take down basic vital statistics, as you would in any doctor's office. This valuable information helps us determine what type of care is appropriate for your condition. We also will use modern foot scanning technology to measure your arches to help us see how your arch height may be affecting your areas of complaint. It's recommended to wear shoes that you can remove easily.

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition, including a medical history that includes previous injuries, surgeries, or major illnesses. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies

Most conditions do not require x-rays prior to receiving chiropractic treatment. The doctor will determine your individual needs during your first visit or any follow-up re-evaluation. Your specific condition may require us to refer you to an outside facility for x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. If the doctor determines that x-rays are warranted, know that most local facilities who are providing our patients with x-rays typically offer appointments within 48 hours, allowing us to move forward with your care quickly and safely when imaging is necessary.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, most patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. If you need a note for your employer or school, let us know before the end of your visit.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
